This blog was started by Jim MacCrate, MAI, CRE, ASA who has been active in this field for more than twenty five years and had his own firm, MacCrate Associates LLC specializing in appraising complex real estate valuation issues and was located in the New York Metropolitan Area. He is a member of the national faculty of the Appraisal Institute and often teaches at New York University, Long Island University and Baruch (CUNY) in Manhattan. I hope to continue to provide important insights on real estate valuation issues, procedures, methodologies and other comments that affect the users of real estate appraisal and consulting services. Often, I will invite others to contribute to this blog on related topics from professionals servicing the real estate valuation industry.
